Sharon Fenster is a Cornell certified diversity and inclusion leadership coach who currently lectures at Johns Hopkins University. There, she pioneered the design of a course of study on the subject of organizational communication and diversity and inclusion. She is published author and sought-after speaker who is dedicated to helping professional men become better allies to women in the workplace. Her emphasis is on Strategic Diversity Leadership and Inclusion. She has experienced gender exclusion in the workplace firsthand. In her own words:
“I learned about gender inequality early in my career. As a result of a turbulent job market, I became a file clerk in a corporate setting after graduating college. I had the good fortune of working with a CEO who became my male ally. With his sponsorship, I became the head of the sales promotion division. The CEO promised me a bonus based on profits. At bonus time, I received a pittance of the bonus I should have received. This violated my trust. In the end, I stood up for myself and got what I deserved!
This workplace trauma propelled me forward to become an advocate for male allyship, female empowerment, gender equity, and female leadership.”
